The Story Behind JMJobsListings.com

JMJobsListings.com is more than a job board—it is the result of faith, perseverance, and a second chance at life.

The letters “JM” stand for Jodah McIntosh, my eldest daughter. She was born just 32 days before one of the most life-changing events I have ever experienced.

While driving, a 10-wheel truck drifted into my lane and collided with my vehicle. The crash left me critically injured, and I spent nearly two months in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kingston Public Hospital.

When I finally regained consciousness, I began reflecting on my life. I asked myself many difficult questions, including, “What will happen to my family now?” At that point, I could not walk, and I had lost the use of my left arm and left leg. By God’s grace, my right hand remained functional.

During that season of uncertainty, I felt the Lord Jesus Christ calling me back to my first love—computer programming, web development, and web design. I made the decision to follow that calling. Although I had been pursuing a future in law and had built a successful career as a Legal and Administrative Manager at one of Jamaica’s largest hotel chains, I realized that God was leading me in a different direction.

As I rebuilt my life, I immersed myself in technology, entrepreneurship, and web-based businesses. Along the way, I personally experienced how difficult it could be to find meaningful employment in Jamaica. While there were already several job websites available, I believed there was an opportunity to create something more modern, user-friendly, and genuinely focused on connecting employers with talented job seekers.

That vision became JMJobsListings.com.
